The Left
• No renewal of Trident
UNILATERALISM. More bullying by the Russian FSB and Putin. Celebrations of power and arrogance in France. Dismay in America. Chuckling in Iran. A total fucking non-starter. As you would expect. Possibly moral, but madness.
• Bolder approach to taxation
That means MORE tax increases, doesn't it. Presumably only for single mothers in Deptford tho, not billionaires in Chelsea.
• More controls on the banking sector and the super-rich
Policy clearly proposed by leftie with no understanding of capital flight and finance. Non-doms are already fleeing.
• Reduction of child poverty
Only possible by using something unacceptable. Like mass culling of the poor or eugenics.
Blairites
• Faster reform of health and education, with emphasis on 'personalisation'of public services (policy stolen from Tories)
• More welfare reform (more pissing off the unions)
• More incentives for 'middle Britain' such as further cuts in inheritance tax (hardly anybody thinks it should be cut further, it does no good for day-to-day costs)
Many MPs from all sides
• No to ID cards (Won't happen because Labour will appear less "tough" than the Tories)
• No to extension of pre-trial detention to 42 days (Won't happen because Labour will appear less "tough" than the Tories)
• Greater emphasis on civil liberties (Won't happen because Labour will appear less "tough" than the Tories)
• Faster constitutional reform
• More ambitious climate change targets and greater enforcement (would actually antagonize voters further)
• More ambitious targets to build affordable new homes (only percieved as necessary because of immigration, prices crashing anyway)
• More positive approach to the EU (would further enrage Lisbon "Treaty" critics)
• Faster withdrawal of troops from Iraq (would be stupid)
